Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence
The inter-university Degree Course in Artificial Intelligence has been set up within an agreement between the University of Pavia, the University of Milano and the University of Milano Bicocca (hereinafter Universities) and it is coordinated by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pavia. It belongs to class L-31 of Degrees in Sciences and Information Technologies referred to in the Ministerial Decree of March 16, 2007.
The normal duration of the degree course is three years.
The call 2022/23 for applicants contains all the information about access to the degree course, deadlines and procedures to be followed (under penalty of exclusion from enrollment).

At the University of Pavia orientation activities are coordinated by the office “Centro Orientamento” (italian acronym: COR.)
For the 2021-2022 academic year, access to the Degree Course is subject to local programming in order to ensure the quality of the educational offer with reference to available resources.
The allocation of available places is driven by the ranking resulting from a knowledge test involving English TOLC-I (see the website https://www.cisiaonline.it/area-tematica-english-tolc-ingegneria/home-english-tolc-i/). The times and procedures for carrying out the admission test, as well as registration for the selections will be outlined in an official notice published at https://web.unipv.it/formazione/iscriversi-a-una-laurea-triennale-o-magistrale-a-ciclo-unico/con-esaurimento-posti-o-con-numeri-chiusi/.
For candidates whose position in the ranking falls within the prescribed number, additional training obligations (OFA) may be expected in the event of a low grading in the “Mathematics” section of the test; this grade must be improved within the first year of the course. Details of the minimum threshold, methods of enrollment and the allocation of OFAs will be made public in the official notice, referred to in the paragraph above, concerning admission to the Degree Course.

To enrol in the Degree Course, the student must possess a secondary school diploma or a qualification obtained abroad that is recognized as being suitable by the competent bodies of the University that houses the administrative office.

The OFA (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo, which means “additional training obligation”) is assigned to those who obtained less than 9/20 in the mathematics section of the TOLC test, or less than 510/800 in the mathematics section of SAT.
The OFA must be fixed before the end of the first year, otherwise the access to the second year will be prevented.
The OFA can be canceled in two ways:
1) by passing a specific test organized by the Calculus teacher or
2) by passing the Calculus exam.
The students who need to cancel the OFA are strongly encouraged to take the online precourse. Note, however, that the online test does not cancel the OFA.
A MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) in Mathematics is available, both in English and in Italian. Those students who have reported an “OFA” (“Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo”, i.e. a weakness in Mathematics) during the admission test are strongly encouraged to follow the MOOC.
